Foundation for Ecological Security
The Panel will focus on how in India we have used geospatial technology in decision making systems with regard to securing our ecosystems and biodiversity and compare it with how at the local level communities have used their models and approaches to deal with conservation action. The session will provide some case studies and suggest ways and means to mainstream use of geospatial technology for decision making systems at local level.
During the session a Special Report prepared jointly by Forum for Law, Environment, Development and Governance (FLEDGE) and FES titled “Knowledge Commons: Current Issues related to Natural Resources and Biodiversity” will also be launched.
