BiographyKapil Chawla heads Ecosystem Partnerships for the Digital Transformation Office at Cisco, India & SAARC.

Kapil has over 16 years of experience in the Digital industry, covering entrepreneurial and strategic roles, spread across the Internet and Mobile domains, including payments, e-commerce, content discovery, media & entertainment and Mobile VAS/enterprise SMS.

Before joining Cisco, Kapil was cofounder and CEO of WhichApp, which won the Google for Mobile - Startup Award 2015. WhichApp was also recognised by YourStorys Mobile Sparks, as one of the Top 10 Mobile Startups 2015 and won the Mobile Advertising Innovation Award at MMA Startup Connect 2015.

Prior to WhichApp, Kapil was Vice President and Head of Biz Dev and Partnerships at Mobikwik, where he was responsible for setting up the BD and Alliances team, including Bank partnerships, Merchant acquisition, Recharge partnerships with telcos and aggregators and Strategic partnerships for user acquisition and wallet distribution.

Kapil was cofounder of a2zbaby.com, an e-commerce firm, specializing in babies & kids vertical, where he was responsible for product management, technology and operations processes. Before a2zbaby.com, he setup the digital media business for Endemol India, the India arm of Endemol Group, one of the largest independent content producers and IP owners globally. Kapil gained experience working with various partners in the digital ecosystem, including TV broadcasters, Internet players, Mobile VAS companies, Gaming Studios & Telecom Operators.

Before Endemol, he worked in multiple roles with the IIT-Bombay incubated startup Webaroo (now known as GupShup or SMSGupshup), handling roles across product management, business development and ecosystem evangelization.

Kapil started his career with National Center for Software Technology (now C-DAC), as a Scientist, working in the Network Management Division. He has also worked at Infosys as a Consultant in the CRM and BI practice, working with Logistics, Banking and Media & Publishing clients in North America.

Kapil is a Computer Science Engineer and an MBA from MDI, Gurgaon. He has a keen interest in analyzing business plans/models, disruptive innovation & scalability of business ideas. He likes to watch movies, read, constantly grow and is fascinated by psychology, minds and what drives people.
