BiographyDr. Aggarwal is Group Head, Water Resources of Indian Institute of Remote Sensing, ISRO, Dehradun, India. He has more than 20 years experience in the field of Remote Sensing and GIS application in Water Resources Management and currently leading various Research projects viz. 1. Satellite based Water resources assessment 2. Impact of LULC change on hydrologic Regime of Indian River basins, 3. Impact of Climate Change on Water Resources, 4. Estimation of snow cover area, snow physical parameters and glacier related studies in parts of Western Himalayas using microwave and optical remote sensing, 5. Flood early warning system of North west Himalaya. Currently, he is also holding additional position as Programme Coordinator of Centre for Space Science and Technology Education in Asia and the pacific, Affiliated to the United Nation located at Dehradun. He is also Managing Editor of Journal of Indian Society of Remote Sensing. Dr. Aggarwal is also holding responsibility as secretary, International society of photogrammetry and Remote Sensing, Technical Commission V. Based on his outstanding contribution in the field, he has been conferred with Eminent Engineers award in the year 2014 by Institution of Engineers of India, Uttarakhand State centre. He was also awarded President Appreciation Medal by Indian society of Remote Sensing for the year 2016. He is also contributing in WGCapD of Committee on Earth Observation Satellites. Dr. Aggarwal has published about 100 research papers in pear reviewed national and international journal and symposia.
