BiographyJella Kiran is working as Scientific Officer in Telangana State Remote Sensing Applications Centre with 20 years of experience in handling projects and research activities related to water/land resources management, Infrastructure inventory and planning. Prior to TRAC, he has worked in ICRISAT and NIRD.

Some of his most recent works include Spatial analysis and mapping the Drinking Water supply infrastructure for Mission Bhagiratha, Implementation of GIS for PMGSY of Telangana State, GIS support for Ease of doing business, Tribal Welfare Information System, Empowering Panchayati Raj Institutions Spatially, Space based information support for decentralized planning and impact evaluation of Irrigation projects.

He has presented his work in public and is a member of a wide network of climate related researchers working on hydrology in the country. With the skill set that he has, he is interested in development of a system to assess/forecast water productivity using Geospatial techniques and Hydrology models, and also extend it to the development of a farmer-centered information system that utilizes the Mobile Technology for dissemination of agriculture related information.
