About Geospatial and Earth Observation Industrial Policy for India
As part of series of reforms towards strengthening Indian economy, Finance Minister Ms. Nirmala Sitharaman announced that Government of India is considering structural reforms in the field of space technology and liberalisation of geospatial data and satellite imaging policy. It is a milestone development, laying the foundation for self-reliant India in digital age and especially for geospatial industry which is underpinning next generation economy and society.
Geospatial Media has constituted a voluntary Think Tank ‘National Geospatial Strategy for New India’ under the leadership of Kiran Kumar, Former Chairman of ISRO. The Think Tank is deliberating and developing a set of recommendations and suggestions duly supported by value proposition of geospatial and earth observation industrial development policy.
With an intent to have consultation and engagement with larger section of leadership across commercial industry, government institutions, and civil society, Geospatial Media in partnership with World Geospatial Industry Council is organizing a virtual summit on ‘Geospatial and Earth Observation Industrial Development Strategy for India’ on 18th June between 4 PM to 7 PM (IST).
